Maquette-Proto-iPhone-6-01
New photos of an alleged ‘iPhone 6‘ dummy unit surfaced this afternoon. The images depict a device that is noticeably larger and thinner than the current iPhone 5s, with rounded corners, and an overall design that matches up with previous information.

There’s no word on where the physical mockups came from, and there’s obviously no way to determine their validity. But our friends over at Nowhereelse.fr say that the snapshots were published by a long-time member of a well-known Chinese forum…

How to disable the Google Chrome notifications menu bar icon in OS X

Chrome Flags

I’ll admit it. I’m pretty wishy-washy when it comes to the web browser. I had my longest stint with Safari over the past nine months, but now I’m unceremoniously back with Chrome.

A lot has changed with Chrome since I was regular user. There’s the “new” Chrome notifications menu bar icon that never seems to want to go away. In fact, Google has made it nearly impossible for the average user to disable the icon.

Thankfully, disabling the Chrome notifications menu bar is pretty easy if you know where to look. I’ll show you how to just that via our video walkthrough inside…. Read the rest of this post here

OS X Mavericks (Desktop, MacBook)

Apple has seeded another beta for OS X 10.9.3 to registered Mac developers this afternoon. The update comes just one week after the seventh beta was released, which brought about few notable changes.

The new build is available to developers via an update in the Mac App Store or as a download on Apple’s online developer center. It does not, however, appear to be out in Apple’s new Beta Seed program yet…… Read the rest of this post here

Hold2Speak Screenshot

As you might imagine, I’m pretty proud of this latest jailbreak tweak. Hold2Speak is a release that went from concept to reality in mere days, and it’s pretty handy to boot.

Hold2Speak allows users to send incoming calls directly to the iPhone’s speaker phone using a tap and hold gesture on the Answer button. It’s an extremely simply upcoming release with no settings to configure, just like I stated on our original concept video.

Check inside to see how @isklikas and @sharedRoutine collaborated to make this concept a reality…. Read the rest of this post here

Concept: Hold2Speak – answer a phone call directly in speaker mode

Hold2Speak

Every now and then I stumble upon a feature that I would like to have on the iPhone, but usually I end up forgetting about it, or just stashing it away for later. Sometimes, though, I get enough gumption to push for an idea to be brought to fruition. TypeStatus was a good example of that, and it turned out pretty well. Others haven’t turned out so well, but it doesn’t hurt to keep trying.

This latest concept is something that I’ve been marinating on for quite some time. It’s called Hold2Speak, and it allows you to answer a call directly in speaker phone mode by tapping and holding the Answer button. Normal taps on the Answer button would still use the headset as a means of communicating with the other party.

I’ve created a video walkthrough for the Hold2Speak concept. Would you consider using something like this? If the demand is high enough, perhaps one of the community’s developers wouldn’t mind taking on such a project. Check inside for the video and details…. Read the rest of this post here

Along with the redesigned Lock screen interface comes widgets, quick shortcuts, custom themes, and HTML support for even deeper custom Lock screen features. Oh, and did I mention that there’s an API for developers to extend Convergance’s features?

Needless to say, Convergance is one of the most hyped tweaks of 2014. Does it live up to the hype? Have a look inside for the details…. Read the rest of this post here

Locko 3

In light of the recent Heartbleed exposure, a lot of companies have been updating their OpenSSL security software and asking account users to update their password information. Some companies have actually forced users to change their password. It is extremely important to have a unique, strong password that combines numbers, letters, and symbols to secure your private information. However, it is difficult to remember dozens of complex passwords and you don’t want to use the same one for every account.
